Georgetown has been attracting visitors since its beginnings in 1859.  Back then, it was just a mine camp.  Now, it is a beautiful town surrounded by the Rocky Mountains.

There is plenty to do in Georgetown.  Visitors can go fishing, hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding.  There’s plenty of shopping to do on 6th street and hungry guests can get their fill of great quality food too.  Visitors can take self guided walking tours of the town–just stop at the Visitor Center for more information. Guests are advised to spend some time at the Gateway Visitor Center or Downtown Visitor Center to learn all about the activities and events that the town has to offer.

On May 28th and 29th, the town will be celebrating Mining and Railroad Days.  There will be plenty of food and fun for the entire family.  Take a ride on the historic Georgetown Loop Railroad, or tour the rail yard or the Lebanon Silver Mine.  You can also enjoy burro rides, participate in an obstacle course, or go rafting on Clear Creek.
