Vail Resorts, Inc. runs six ski resorts, a summer resort, and luxury resort hotels throughout the United States. Four of the ski resorts are located in Colorado, two are in Lake Tahoe on the California-Nevada border and the summer resort is in Wyoming.
Originally known as Vail Associates, it was founded in 1962 by Pete Seiber. When it went public in 1996, the name was changed to Vail Resorts. In Colorado, the four resorts are the Vail, Beaver Creek, Keystone, and Breckenridge.
