Rocky Mountain Roller Girls

The Rocky Mountain Roller Girls are Denver’s original all-women roller derby team.  The  RMRG have 6 teams that play including two travel teams, three home teams which compete in interleague and intraleague games; and one rookie team.  The teams include the 5280 Fight Club, The Contenders, The Red Ridin’Hoods, The Sugar Kill Gang, The Dooms Daisies, and The Kill Scouts.

Derby names are given to girls on the team that have earned them.  New skaters use their real names until they have learned the skills necessary to earn full membership in the league.  At that time, they take on a skating name.

Home bouts are held at Fillmore Auditorium on Clarkson Street in Denver. The doors open at 6pm and the skating starts at 7 pm.  Tickets can be purchased online at or at the auditorium.

Guests wanting to attend the events can ride the party bus too.  For $27 per person, you will get to ride to and from the event in style as well as all the beer you can drink.  The bus departs and returns to the Skylark Lounge at 140 S. Broadway at 5:30 and returns after the bout is over.

The next bout will be held on June 4th and will feature the 5280 Fight Club and the Oly Rollers.  The bout will be held at Filmore Auditorium in Denver.

During the weekend of August 13th and 14th, the RMRG’s will be hosting their first boot camp outside of the United Staes.  This camp will be held in Birmingham, England.  For more information on the event, go to

For those who want to try out the derby, you might want to stop by the RMRG’s weekly Derby Day events.  Stop by on a Sunday afternoon to skate with the girls for a few hours and learn some basics.  Email [email protected] for more information.  Sessions are $5 and are usually held from 1:30 to 3:30 pm.

If you have a youngster interested in roller derby, enroll them in the junior roller league.  It costs $45 for a child to enroll and $15 per month.  The group, the RollerPUNKS, is open for boys and girls ages 6 to 11 and for girls only ages 12 to 17.

The RMRG is always looking for volunteers.  This is a great way to get in on the action and attend bouts for free.  For more information, contact the Volunteer Director at [email protected]
