Denver will finally be able to embrace the glory that is IKEA. This Swedish home goods store is one of the most beloved home furnishing stores in the world. There are already 37 IKEA stores in the US and over 280 worldwide. Colorado’s IKEA is currently in the process of construction in Centennial, which began in 2008 and hopes to open this fall, just in time for Christmas. It is located 15 miles south of Downtown Denver in the Park Meadows area.
IKEA is well-known for quality ergonomic furniture with reasonable, if not surprisingly low, prices. Many IKEA products are built with sustainable intentions and the company itself commends environmentally friendly and socially responsible efforts. Inside, Denver residents will find many inspirational room settings, a children’s play area, three model home interiors and a 350-seat restaurant serving up Swedish foods.
For the Colorado economy, IKEA is sure to push down the current 8.8% unemployment rate as they are opening up 400 jobs as well as stimulate Denver to purchase goodies for their homes.
