Auraria campus is located in downtown Denver. The campus houses three different universities: University of Colorado at Denver, Community College of Denver, and Metropolitan State College of Denver. Overlooking the east of the South Platte River and located south of Cherry Creek, this university campus is near the original Auraria mining center of 1859. This is how it inherited its name.

- The University of Colorado at Denver: The university is also called CU Denver and has two branches: one at Auraria Campus and the other at the Anschutz Medical Campus. The campus features both graduate and undergraduate programs and is close to the trade sectors of Denver. It has the largest graduate school and graduate business school in Denver. CU Denver at Auraria Campus houses eight schools and colleges. These are the College of Architecture and Planning, Arts and Media, Business School, Education and Human Development, Engineering and Applied Science, Liberal Arts and Sciences, Public Affairs and of course the graduate school.
- Community College of Denver: CCD is a community college located on the Auraria campus. It features the under reserved, minority and first generation students of the society. It gives quality higher education at a more affordable rate and offers four degrees: Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, Associate of Applied Science, Associate of General Studies. The studies also include more than one hundred certificate and career building subjects like health science, nursing, career, technical education, general education and many more.
- Metropolitan State College of Denver: Enrolled to be one of the second largest undergraduate degree providers of Denver, Metro State trains its students in a wide array of subjects like teaching, criminal justice, aviation, accounting and social work. Metro offers 54 majors and 90 minors along with masters degree programs. Its departments include the School of Business, School of Education, School of Letter Arts and Sciences, and School of Professional Studies. Metro State also has departments for journalism, aviation, and aerospace.
The Auraria Campus has a lounge and cafeteria, academic departments, a food court, and other student amenities. The administrative building is the Auraria Higher Education Center, which handles parking, maintenance and other services pertaining to the huge campus. The Student Housing Board pertains to three separate apartments and the buildings have three gymnasiums, a climbing wall, a gym and pool, and a dance studio. The huge campus is a hub for everything Auraria students need.
