Residents of the Denver to Boulder areas have their own version of the Polar Bear Club and it’s called the Polar Plunge. The annual Polar Plunge takes place on New Year’s Day at Boulder Reservoir from 10 am – 3:30 pm. Tickets cost $20-$25, as proceeds go to Alzheimer’s, and guests are invited to dress up in costumes and get their pictures taken with AL the Polar Bear. All participants will receive a long-sleeve 2011 Polar Plunge T-shirt and a Plunge certificate for participating in this fun and exhilarating Colorado event.

After a dive into the freezing Boulder Reservoir, indulge in a hot beverage and warm food while supporting the Alzheimer’s Association of Colorado. Proceeds from the Boulder Polar Plunge will go towards Alzheimer education, counseling, research and support groups. Boulder’s popular radio station, KBCO 97.3 will also be there for commentary.

Take a chance with the $1 drawing for a handful of different Plunge Packages to local Denver restaurants and Boulder businesses. Enter for your chance to win a ski package, Boulder dinner package, art and culture package, dinner and a movie package, office lunch package and a family package.

Jumping into freezing cold water isn’t just for the elderly up north anymore. Grab your swimsuits and join in the fun in Boulder for a great cause and a thrilling event.
