Gary Brooks Faulkner of Greeley, Colorado, otherwise known as the solo Osama Bin Laden hunter has been released.
Faulkner left Colorado and his life as an independent contractor to hunt down Bin Laden since the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. He believed that the government was not doing enough justice for the attacks on New York and Washington D.C. and took it upon himself with five previous trips to the Middle East and a plan.
He was able to fund his six trips by selling his tools from working in construction.
Pakistani officials caught Faulkner near the Afghanistan border carrying a sword, a pistol and night-vision equipment. However, they did not file any charges against him.
The Pakistani military hospital did give Faulkner some dialysis treatment for his kidney disease.
Some think his solo mission is crazy while others admire his bravery. Others just look to his lengthy criminal record from the 1980s filled with burglary and larceny in California. Denver County Jail has Faulkner listed with a domestic violence conviction in 1996 and a Greeley misdemeanor in 2006.
Either way, Faulkner is certainly something of a Colorado modern-day Rambo.
