Coloradans from Boulder to Denver and beyond participate in the 32nd annual BolderBOULDER Memorial Day weekend. This 10K road race takes place May 31st, 2010 on the streets of Boulder and finishing at the University of Colorado Folsom Stadium.
Their motto “Sea level is for sissies” really does push athletes who fly in to challenge themselves 5,280 feet above sea level. Of course, many are there for the support to cheer on the runners and walkers.
Running at the base of the Colorado Rockies, the BolderBOULDER is a tribute to the men and women who have served our country during times of peace and war for freedom. It is one of the largest Memorial Day gatherings in the country.
A military performance with parachutes, jets, University of Colorado’s ROTC program and Medal of Honor awards follow after the race.
The after party consists of many booths surrounding the stadium with freebies and samples.
Down the street around 13th & Canyon is the Boulder Creek Festival, which lasts all Memorial Day weekend. There are many arts and craft booths and tents, free live music, lots of local restaurant booths and much more.
Bring the whole family, and the dog too, for a weekend full of courage, strength and festivities!
