Garden of the Gods is Colorado’s world famous natural landmark which features a 300’ high sandstone rock formation overlooked by snow covered peaks. The scenic beauty that the high sandstone offers with overlooking snow peaks and a clear sky is a welcome sight to thousands of tourists. The visit to the park can be entertaining with a number of events. There are exhibitions, cafes, shopping, historic sites and much more at Garden of the Gods. Located in Colorado Springs, Garden of the Gods is open to the public from May 1st to October 31st from 5 am to 11 pm and once again from November 1st to April 31st from 5 am to 9 pm.
The park exhibits the cultural, geological and ecological history of Colorado with topographical maps of gardens, flora and fauna of the region and life sized replicas of bighorn sheep, buffaloes and other wildlife. Visitors get to see a replica of the skull of Camptosaurus, a dinosaur that was discovered in Colorado Springs. Clues of the Past, Jurassic park, the Mountain People, Raising the Tipi, Birds of the Peaks, A Summer Moment in the Garden with Mallards, Spring Moment with Peregrine Falcons, five geological murals, the rich Buzzeli Gallery and many more attractions keep visitors coming back.
For those who love to have a picnic in the garden, there are two exclusive spots that are uncovered and left for fun and frolic. The Scotsman picnic area and the South Spring Canyon picnic area with five and six tables, respectively, lure groups to spend an exciting day. Biking and equestrian rides are another famous part of the agenda at the park. For those who love to explore hiking at the Garden of the Gods keeps them at an adrenaline rush. There is a full stretch of 15 miles of trail to explore in the region. Depending on the intensity of enthusiasm, visitors select their trails. They get to choose one of them from the Perkins Central Garden Trail, Ridge Trail, Siamese Twin Trail, Chambers/Britag/ Palmer Trail, and Scotsman Charlie Trail.
