Aerial Dance Over Denver

Aerial Dance Over Denver (ADOD) was founded in 2007 by Gayle Lynne.  The studio, which is located on Hampden Avenue in Denver, is the first and only aerial training center in the state of Colorado. Gayle took a class in aerial dance and was impressed when she saw how it empowered the students in the class.  Because of that, she decided to open her own studio to help encourage and inspire people in the Denver area.

Aerial Dance Over Denver has 5 trained instructors which teach classes in their state of the art 3,000 square foot studio.  The studio features 7 stations and 35 rigging points.  A specially designed floor allows students the opportunity to incorporate floor dance into their routines. In addition to teaching at the dance studio, most of the instructors have toured and performed in the United States, Europe and Canada.

If you would like to try aerial dancing, but aren’t sure how or where to start, Gayle suggests a class in aerial basics or aerial fitness.  Both of these classes will allow you to try different apparatuses, learn basic aerial techniques, and develop the fitness and strength to progress to more advanced classes.  She also suggests viewing the video on aerial dance on her website so that you can see what aerial dancing is all about.  The video can be seen at http://www.aerialdanceoverdenver.com/index.html

The studio also has a wide variety of events designed to entertain and allow the public to learn about aerial dance.  Right now, the studio is accepting applications for the 5th Annual Aerial Circus Summer Camp from June 5th to August 5th.  The camp is held Monday through Friday from 9:30 am to 12 pm.  During weekly camp sessions, kids, teens, and even adults can learn about aerial dance and increase their physical fitness levels.  Camp tuition is $210 per week; however, if you sign up before May 31st, you will be able to lock in a special weekly tuition rate of $195.  There are also family discount rates, as well as discounts for those who sign up for several sessions during the camp.

A Mother’s Day “High” Tea is also in the works.  For more information, see the website at http://www.aerialdanceoverdenver.com.

Past events open to the public have included a Halloween Haunted Aerial Show, a Winter Carnival, a Starlight Celestial Party, and a Leprechaun’s Magic Show and party.

In addition to events, the studio also has an entertainment troupe that can perform at your party or event.  A portable rig enables the aerial entertainers to perform at your location, or you can bring your special event to the studio. For more information on this, call the studio at 303-771-0161.
