The annual Red Ball in Denver is a cutting edge event at Exdo Events Center to raise funds for the Colorado AIDS project and awareness for World AIDS Day.
Secondary goal, but not less important, is prevention of HIV and supporting the Colorado residents who are living with the disease. People with HIV are confronted with the harsh realities of this disease every day of their life; they need the support of not only the people around them, but of the whole community. Money is needed for research and prevention, and fundraising is not possible without awareness for its need. Therefore, awareness is the true purpose of the Red Ball.
This year the benefit for the Colorado AIDS Project was a stunning flood of designers including a fiery cocktail reception and a fashion and frosty hair show. The catwalk, flooded with hot creations of local top-notch Denver designers, surely was not inferior to that in Paris!
With more than 500 people attending, Red Ball was a blend of exquisite hair stylists, make up artists, and local fashion designers. Mondo Guerra, who is as much Denver’s hometown hero as he is a national celebrity (the runner-up of Project Runway) was there to give a short speech about how the Colorado Aids Project supported him before when he was struggling with his own battle against the disease. The listeners were really moved by his words, which is a good thing because it is a sign of awareness.
A silent auction with the piles of items to bid on made the evening complete, an exciting event within the event and, most importantly, a profitable fundraiser.
Also on hand was DJ Rockstar Aaron for the music of the evening. Rockstar’s beats and his easily to recognize rainbow mow hawk were the ignition of a hot after party. Local celebrities made their appearance in the V.I.P. section, no need to say that they were dressed for the event! Everybody was having colorful cocktails, dancing, watching and working the social scene.
Red Ball, coinciding with World AIDS Day, created a night of frost and fire, a blend of hot fashion, celebrities, top notch designers and hair stylists, glitter and glamour. All this to ignite Awareness for World AIDS Day and to raise funds so much-needed by the Colorado AIDS Project.
A great evening it was!
