Colorado has a brand new $92 million high school to flaunt and it is located in Westminster. Voters approved of the construction of the new Westminster High School back in 2006 through bonds. As the first new high school in the district in 35 years, Westminster High now boasts 140 security cameras with full-time security officers monitoring them.
Every visitor must present their ID at the front window and is run against the national database of registered sex offenders. The first day of school found one parent to be one.
In case of an emergency lock down, all doors are electronically controlled. As a further step to keep student safe, Westminster High School enacted a closed campus policy this year meaning students are not allowed off campus during regular school hours.
On the plus side there is WiFi throughout this Colorado high school and lots of classroom computers to use.
