On Saturday, May 28, 2011, Denver will become the greatest attraction for music fans across the nation: 20 rock bands will get on four stages along the 16th Street Mall, to delight their fans with their best songs.
Some of the bands that will be present at the event include The Gin Blossoms, Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band, Bop Skizzum and Alicia Witt, John Common, and The Heyday. The artists will be rocking Denver from 2:30 to 9:30 pm and transform it into the scene of a massive free concert, with food and beer along the downtown streets.
In partnership with Centerplate and sponsored by the City of Denver, Newmont Rising, VISIT DENVER, the Downtown Denver Partnership, RTD, CBS4, Entercom, and the Denver Post, the Denver Day of Rock is organized in the benefit of kids, and will include a fundraising action. The funds will help over 40 children to live a better life.
Presented by Concerts for Kids, the Denver Day of Rock drew in 2010 over 100,000 people eager to enjoy the free music and the fun of a daylong event. People across the country can easily get to the event by Amtrak train for example, because the station is placed at the nearby Union Station 17th. In this excellent atmosphere, concert goes can take a trip into the Mile High City and enjoy countless attractions that should not be missed.
This year a mob dance is being organized, to which anyone can take part. Concerts for Kids and Cherry Creek Dance have come together to surprise Denver with a flash mob, performing your favorite songs, from the YMCA to the Cupid Shuffle! The organizers invite all people who are willing to take part to the flash mob to rehearse the dance steps at Cherry Creek Studio or West High school.
The Denver Day of Rock is an opportunity for fans of all ages to see their favorite bands performing on one of the four stages. The stages will all be located on the 16th Street Mall, which means that it will be easy for everybody to wander from one stage to another, according to preferences and musical choices.
The entertainment is the basic element on which the whole event is centered, and people from all around the Centennial State are invited to join the Denver community on 28 May 2011. The all out fun will help you forget about your day-to-day problems!
