admin April 21, 2011 0

The StarFest Entertainment Convention was held April 15, 16, and 17, 2011 at the Marriott and Hilton Denver Tech in Denver, Colorado.  The entertainment convention, which originally started in 1977, is an event that attracts fans of many different genres of entertainment to the area for a weekend of socializing, games, activities, and events.

Events include film presentations, discussion and autograph sessions with actors, costume and talent contests, art shows, educational and informational sessions, events for kids and fan club presentations.

Originally, the StarFest convention was just an event for fans of  the science fiction genre.  Since that time, the scope of the event has broadened.  Those who attend the entertainment convention can also attend HorrorFest for horror fans, ComicFest for comedy fans, and RoboFest for robot fans.  With the exception of ComicFest which is held at the Hilton Garden Inn, all of the other festivals take place at the Marriott and Hilton Denver Tech.

Many actors and actresses also attend the event to talk or just to meet their fans.  Previous participants have included Tom Cruise, John Travolta, Patrick Stewart, William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, Francis Ford Coppola, and Tim Burton.

A variety of types tickets are available to accommodate the needs of various participants.  Participants can attend activities Friday, Saturday and Sunday or just for a day of the event. Tickets for all 3 days of the event are $49 for adults and $24 for children ages 6-10. Children under 6 can attend the event for free. Tickets will cost more if purchased at the door on the day of the event.  Tickets to ComicFest are sold separately and are $15 for the entire weekend or for $10 for each day.  VIP ticket packages are available for $84 and Platinum ticket packages are available for $125.  For more information about tickets or for ordering online, go to http://starland.com/wp/starfest/tickets/#OnlineTicketing.  Tickets are not refundable; however, they can be used for future years if for some reason you aren’t able to attend a convention after purchasing tickets.

Tickets for the Friday Night Meet and Greet Party, the autograph parties, and the photo sessions with the stars cost extra and are not included in the price of the general admission tickets.  For more information on these events, or to order tickets for these events, look online at the online ticketing page at the event website.  It should be noted that while participants are encouraged to take photos of the event, video cameras are not allowed at the entertainment convention.
