It is situated on The Hill, a popular commercial, bar and restaurant district in Boulder. The theater is situated on 13th Street between the unoccupied Tulagi club and a restaurant, and two blocks from the campus of the University of Colorado.
Initially built as the Rialto Theatre in 1925, the building located at 1135 13th Street had several occupants during its early years. It had also been owned by various companies over the course of its history. Its present owner is Celtic Properties, which purchased the building in 1994.
A standing room only, The Fox Theater can accommodate up to 625 people. It also has a bench seating on the room’s outer walls, but these are on a first come, first serve basis. The theater is also available for rentals and private parties.
The Fox Theatre has featured numerous artists over the years; some of the most famous are American rock bands Phish and The Fray, singer-songwriter Sheryl Crow and rapper Snoop Dogg.
The Fox Theater continues to book fantastic artists, making it a great place to enjoy concert. Ticket prices are relatively cheaper compared to other theaters in Denver, ranging from $10 to $15. Drinks are also available for reasonable prices.
For the second quarter of the year and onwards, The Fox Theater has scheduled some great artists. In May, some of the artists who are expected to bring exhilarating performances are Macklemore X Ryan Lewis and Atmosphere (both are sold out), Orgone, and Bad Weather California & Hot White. Noah and the Whale, Langhorne Slim, and Toots & The Maytals are also set to rock the concert floor in June.
As an independent venue, The Fox has lower service fees than other corporate ticketing firms such as Music Today and TicketMaster. To continue providing its in-house ticketing services, it requires service charges, which are based on the amount of tickets sold to events. Service fees vary depending on the location where the ticket is bought; the most expensive is buying tickets in advance in its website. Service fee is least expensive when you buy your ticket in person during the night of the show.
In addition, the Fox Theater offers a Production internship program, one of the most esteemed in the business. Its production department is always in need of interns, providing opportunities to those who are looking for internship opportunities.
